No-bake Granola Bars

Recipe by These chewy granola bars are a simple snack to have on hand for family members of all ages. Customize it for your family and enjoy! From the kitchen of Rebekah Osowick.


  • 4 cups quick oats
  • 2 cup rice cereal
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla


In a large mixing bowl, add the oats, rice cereal, and coconut. Mix together well and set aside. In a small sauce pan on the stove, add the butter and melt over a medium high heat. Add the honey, brown sugar, salt, and vanilla. Stir to combine and then let mixture come to a boil without disturbing it. Once the mixture is boiling, set a timer for 2 minutes and 15 seconds. Allow the mixture to continue boiling undisturbed. You may need to lower heat a little to avoid a boil-over but be sure that the mixture maintains a boil the whole time. Pour the mixture over the oats. be sure to use a spatula to get all the mixture out of the saucepan. Stir well to combine. You may add 1 cup of additional add ins at this point. Ideas include chocolate chips, raisins, chopped nuts, or fruit. Use your creativity to personalize it for your family's tastes.Pour mixture into the Deep Flexiflat and press in firmly. You must press it together as tight as possible for it to hold it's shape after cutting. Refrigerate for 20 minutes. Peel the Deep Flexiflat back and place bars on cutting board to cut to desired size.Adapted from a recipe by Carole Jones of My Kitchen Escapades.
