Cream Puffs

Recipe by These are so light and fluffy. A perfect carrier for something creamy and delicious. Quickly and easily throw a batch together any time for a delightful treat. From the kitchen of Rebekah Osowick

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 eggs
  • Whipped cream, pudding, or ice cream
  • Powdered sugar

1. In a medium sauce pan, combine water, butter and salt. Bring to a boil.

2. Add flour all at once and stir vigorously. Cook and stir until mixture forms a ball. Remove from heat and cool for 10 minutes.

3. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well with a wooden spoon after each addition. Drop dough by 12 heaping tablespoons onto a Silpat (no need for greasing or spraying.)

4. Bake at 400 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until golden. Cool on a cooling rack. Cut tops from puffs and remove the soft dough from the inside.

5. Fill with whipped cream, pudding or ice cream as desired. Replace tops. Using a Sift and Go sifter, dust each puff with powdered sugar. Enjoy! (Adapted from Better Homes and Gardens New Cook Book)
