Easy Focaccia Bread

Recipe by This is a delicious, easy bread that goes well with any meal. Add your favorite French Pantry herbs, top with one of our flavored oils and salts for an amazing and beautiful bread!


  • 1 tsp white sugar
  • 1 (.25 oz) package or 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/3 C warm water (110º F)
  • 2 C All Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tbs olive oil (for bowl and brushing)


1. In a small bowl, dissolve sugar and yeast in warm water. Let stand until creamy (about 10 minutes)2. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt and yeast mixture (herbs may be added at this point). Add in water, 1 tbs at a time until all four is absorbed (additional water may be necessary). When the dough is pulled together, turn it out onto a lightly floured Roul’pat® and knead briefly (about 1 minute)3. Lightly oil a large bowl. Place dough in the bowl and turn to coat with oil. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in volume (between 30-40 minutes)4. Preheat oven to 475º F5. Deflate the dough and turn it out onto a lightly floured Roul’pat®; knead briefly. Pat or roll the dough into a sheet and place on Silpat® or Silpain® sheet and perforated baking sheet. Brush the dough with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.6. Let the dough rest, covered with damp cloth, for 15 minutes.7. Bake focaccia in preheated oven for 10-20 minutes, depending on desired crispness (10 minutes for fluffier, 20 minutes for darker and crunchier).
