Green Bean Casserole with a Twist

Ingredients:


  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/2 lb fresh green beans
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • 8 oz cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup corn flakes
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted

Directions:


1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place Large Round Mold on Perforated Baking Sheet and set aside. Wash, string & snap beans in half. Blanch 6 to 8 minutes in boiling water. Drain, season to taste & set aside.

2. Saute onion in melted butter, add flour and sour cream to make a roux. Stir in half of the cheese, fold mixture into beans & pour into round mold.

3. Top with remaining cheese & bake uncovered 20 minutes or until bubbly. Top with buttered corn flakes & bake an additional 10-15 minutes until golden and crisp.
