Savory Meatballs

Recipe by Double this recipe so you can freeze one. If you make tiny meatballs they taste great in a meatball soup. Sara Lewis, Product Focus Group Member

Ingredients:


  • 1 pound ground turkey, beef or chicken
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/3 cup whole wheat panco or bread crumbs
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tbls French Pantry Herbs De Provence
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tbls butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Directions:


In a small frying pan sauté onion over medium heat until soft. Add garlic and sauté one minute more. In a large mixing bowl combine all ingredients (except meat) and mix well. Add meat and mix well with your hands. Use the small or medium DAH scoop to form the meatballs. Place them on a silpat or flexiflat and bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes depending on size. Serve with rice, noodles and sauce of your choice. These taste great with a red sauce or a white cheese sauce or even plain.
