My Demarle at Home story doesn’t begin at a Cooking Workshop, but in a Bed & Breakfast outside of Atlanta!
My Introduction to Demarle at Home
In August of 2002, after six years of being successfully involved with another direct sales company, my husband and I decided that for many reasons, I needed to step out of the direct sales business. A few weeks later, I went on a “girl’s road trip” with two close friends and stayed in a small B&B. My friends slept late but I woke up early and found myself sitting at the breakfast table across from the only other guest at the B&B, an “attractive, smart-looking business woman”. By the time my friends joined us, we were already talking about the new company she had just started working for and the unique professional products they provided. My friends and I share a love for cooking, so when she showed us the catalog we all went wild and wanted to place an order for just about everything in it! By the end of our conversation, the woman offered me a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: would I like to become one of the Founding Directors for this company as it made its debut here in America? I wasn’t looking to jump back into direct sales, but I told her I’d talk to my husband, pray about it and get back with her. I called her back and told her I would give it a try for one year! Her response was, “I knew you would… I’ve already called the office and they have FedEx’d your kit… you’ll receive it in the morning!”
Ten days later I found myself on a flight to Los Angeles, California for the first Founders meeting! Little did I expect that my life was about to change! My initial “one year” has come and gone and I’m more convinced than ever that I made the right choice that weekend. The opportunity offered to me was truly a gift from God. Needless to say, that “attractive, smart looking business woman” with the vision to see my potential was Cindy Juncaj, who is now the President of Demarle at Home here in America as well as my valued friend!
My Family & Demarle at Home
My husband, Chip, and I have been married for thirty years and have four grown children: Brad (27), Ashley (25), Peter (21) and Sam (19). Although my major in college was Fashion Merchandise, my vocation in life has been that of a wife and mother. Over the years, I have been involved in church, school and community volunteer positions. I even enjoyed a few part-time jobs. In the mid-1990’s, I decided to take on full time work. It soon became evident that for me, being a full-time wife and mother, and trying to hold down a full time job wasn’t working! I couldn’t give 110% to both my jobs! In 2002, I found that by developing my Demarle at Home business I really could have the best of both worlds! What a blessing it has been to develop my own financially successful business while still being a full time wife and mother. My husband Chip has been my biggest cheerleader from the very beginning! The things that impressed him about Demarle’s opportunities were:
- He could see the value of this unique, professional product and the ground-floor business potential;
- He was impressed with the vision and integrity of the company’s leadership;
- He realized Demarle at Home was the perfect marriage of my love for cooking, teaching and developing relationships with others;
- He realized the earning potential was far greater than many other direct sales companies: in the first 3 months with Demarle, my income was 8 times what it was in the previous 9 months with another direct sales company... with the same amount of work!
Demarle truly has become a “family business” at our house. Chip and the kids could all effectively demonstrate the benefits of our products as well as any well-trained representative! Most importantly, they have all expressed appreciation for the work I do and the many benefits we have enjoyed because of my Demarle business.
Travel
My “paychecks” from Demarle come in many different ways. Earning trips to Paris, Guadeloupe and a cruise to Jamaica and the Grand Caymans with my husband have been wonderful rewards for hard work and perseverance. The deep friendships I’ve developed with other representatives and customers have truly been blessings you can’t put a price tag on. Our family has been able to enjoy many luxuries as a direct result of the income from my business. Remodeling the kitchen, activities and trips for the kids, upgrades to our home, a housekeeper and driving the car of my dreams. But the most unique “paycheck” I receive from my Demarle at Home business is the fact that I’m able to go on three- and four-week medical missions trips. I was able to go to India after the Tsunami and have been to Uganda four times. My Demarle income also provides education and support for two Ugandan girls, Diana and Royce, that I get to see each time I go back. These “paychecks” will be paying dividends for eternity!
Founding Director
In the fall of 2002, I began my Demarle business as a Founding Director. I had fun introducing everyone I met to our unique products and ground-floor business opportunity. Cindy Juncaj and the home office provided great support and training and the flow of communication between other Representatives was always just a phone call away. I began sponsoring right away and had a good sized team covering six different states by the end of my first year, with most of them being long-distance. Because of this, I felt like I was “playing by myself”. My growth went “wide” before it went “deep” and it wasn’t until I had my first break-away, Nancy Rousso here in Birmingham, that I really began to feel like I had someone to “play with me” in the business. It’s been exciting to watch our team grow as we’ve worked with each other and with other reps from all over America. A culture of teamwork has been cultivated within Demarle from the very beginning, not only with the representatives, but with each person in the Home Office as well. Up until this year, the growth within my personal team had been slow and steady. However, this year we have exploded! With two Bronze Chefs, five Sr. Managers and four Managers along with over one hundred and fifty other representatives, the sky’s the limit! I’ve learned that everything a sponsor does needs to be duplicatable. We can accomplish so much more together than we can on our own.
One of the most exciting experiences I’ve had with Demarle happened this past July at our annual convention when Susan Elder, one of my personally sponsored Bronze Chefs, earned a seat on the 2006-2007 Roundtable Team! I have been privileged to serve on the Roundtable twice and know what an honor it is. When her name was called and I watched her walk up to the stage, I felt as proud as any parent would feel when their child achieves and is recognized for accomplishments well earned! It’s exciting to see that a representative has not only duplicated what they’ve learned from you… but far exceeded what you have taught them. Multiplication beats duplication every time! Being a small part of personal growth and success in others is so rewarding! I’m proud to be a part of a company that encourages and recognizes success in others!
My Future with Demarle at Home
As I look back at the last four years with Demarle, it’s easy for me to see God’s faithfulness in allowing me to continue what I’ve always loved doing but with a different group of people and through a different venue.
My gifts and passions have always involved encouraging, teaching and working personally with others, whether it be with my own little ones, other children or grown women. I’ve never considered myself a business woman, yet I realize the same integrity and values, perseverance and principals that motivate my personal relationships are the same ingredients that work in my Demarle at Home business.
I invest myself in every customer, hostess and representative, always keeping in mind what’s in it for “THEM” and the rewards are always more than I could ever imagine. It’s hard to tell which aspect of my business I enjoy the most. Educating new customers about: “What IT is! Why IT works! How IT can benefit them!” I have built rich relationships with those I would never have known outside of Demarle. This is a FUN business! I love seeing the “WOW” look on the faces of new customers that have never seen our product. I can’t wait for each team meeting or Demarle Convention to catch up with those who truly are like family to me. The challenge of earning the annual incentive trip for me and my husband always makes the hard work to meet the challenge worthwhile. This business can truly be for anyone. Demarle provides all the ingredients needed to grow your business. At the first Demarle Founding Directors meeting we were told that even though our product is phenomenal, it isn’t the most valuable asset that the company has; we, the representatives, are the most valuable assets of Demarle at Home. My desire is to continue to be a part of this value system as Demarle at Home spreads to every continent. After all, I think I’ve done the first product demonstration in a home-kitchen in Africa… where can I go next?!?
